PINE VALLEY, N.Y. – No. 9 Elmira College got a hat trick from Alayna Toole '26 as the Soaring Eagles opened their weekend slate with a 10-0 victory against the New England College Pilgrims at the Murray Athletic Center on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Anna Lugge '27 would open the scoring for the Soaring Eagles at the 3:13 mark of the first period as MK Boyle '26, and Sarah Waszkielewicz '26 were credited with the assists. Elmira made it 2-0 at the 9:58 mark with a power-play goal from Bri Conger '27. The tally was Conger's first collegiate goal for the Soaring Eagles.
• Elmira would light the lamp six times in the second period as Erika Goleniak '25 needed nine seconds to give the Purple & Gold a 3-0 advantage over the Pilgrims. Gaby Matson '28 followed 28 seconds later to make it 4-0 with an unassisted goal for Elmira.
• Toole netted her first goal of the night at the 1:59 mark of the second period as Mandy McCarrick '26 added the assist. Sabrina Shvartsman '25 made it 6-0 in favor of Elmira before Toole added her second of the period to make it 7-0. Waszkielewicz closed the scoring in the second period to give Elmira an 8-0 lead at the 19:43 mark. The goal for Waszkielewicz was the first of her collegiate career.
• Goleniak added her second goal of the contest just 36 seconds into the third period, while Toole tallied her third goal of the night at the 16:37 mark with the Soaring Eagles on the power-play. Elmira goalkeeper Leonie-Louise Kuehberger '25 made eight saves to record the shutout and improve to 2-1-0 on the season.
• Boyle paced the Soaring Eagles with three assists, while McKenzie Schmidt '25 added a pair of assists for Elmira. Matson recorded 16 faceoff wins on the night, while Toole and Sophie Compeau '25 each recorded 12 wins in the circle.
