DANBURY, CT. – Paced by a double-double from
Amarionah Dixon '26 and a team-high 13 points from
Nevaeh Winston '25, the Elmira College women's basketball program recorded a 52-45 victory on Sunday in its first-ever meeting against Western Connecticut State.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Winston paced the Soaring Eagles in the contest with 13 points as she finished 6-of-7 from the field to go along with a team-high three steals. Laura Bogota '25 connected on a pair of 3-pointers for Elmira and recorded 12 points while going 4-of-4 at the free throw line.
- Dixon notched her first double-double for the Soaring Eagles as she finished with 11 points and a career-high 16 rebounds (eight offensive, eight defensive). The Purple & Gold also got nine points from Taylor Jung '25 on the night.
- Nia Rencher finished the contest with a game-high 18 points for the Wolves, while Gianna Castellano added 11 points for WestConn.
- Elmira held a 47-24 advantage in rebounds while holding the Wolves to a 31.4 percent field goal percentage (16-of-51). WestConn tallied 19 points off 25 turnovers in the contest by the Soaring Eagles, while Elmira recorded 26 points in the paint.
