ELMIRA, N.Y. – For the third time this season, the Elmira College women's wrestling program hosted a dual between two nationally ranked programs as the No. 14 Soaring Eagles defeated No. 15 Lock Haven University 25-22 inside Speidel Gymnasium on Thursday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Elmira gained a 5-4 lead in the match against the Bald Eagles following a forfeit victory from No. 8 ranked Abby Duke '26 at 110 pounds.
- Megan Edwards '27 recorded a forfeit victory for the Soaring Eagles at 124 pounds to give the Purple & Gold a 10-9 lead in the match.
- Trailing in the match 13-10, Ragan Retell '28 electrified the crowd with an 11-1 tech fall victory at 138 pounds to knot the score 14-14.
- The Soaring Eagles grabbed the lead for good in the match as No. 5 Zoey Lints '27 needed just 30 seconds to record a pin at 145 pounds and give Elmira a 19-14 lead.
- Emily Sindoni '27 battled through a whole two periods in a back-and-forth bout at 160 pounds as Lock Haven would notch a 20-16 decision to trim the EC lead to 20-17.
- Skylah Chakouian '25 secured the match win for the Purple & Gold with her pin wrestling at 180 pounds as she beat the clock with just 22 seconds remaining in the second period.
- Lock Haven recorded victories in the match at 103, 117, 131, 160, and 207 pounds.
- The victory against Lock Haven is the second in the head-to-head series, with both coming inside Speidel Gymnasium. Elmira recorded a 30-18 win against the Bald Eagles on February 8, 2023.
