COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles were back on the mats on Saturday, taking part in the Will Abele Invitational. Selvin Maldonado '25 finished seventh overall in his weight class.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Blake O'Brien '24 dropped his first-round match at 133 lbs via fall.

Victor Hyland '28 lost via fall at 1:10 in the first-round matchup at 149 lbs.

Hollis Berry '25 managed to score eight points in his first-round tilt before ultimately losing via decision.

Kahajen Smith '25 saw his day come to an end by way of a 13-8 major decision in the 174 lbs. class.

Casey Cooper '25 ended his tournament after a fall at 1:07 in the class of 174 lbs.

The Soaring Eagles' heavyweight, Nicholas Lopez '26, was out after a fall in :26 in the 285 lbs. class.

The Soaring Eagles will be back in action on Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Jamestown Community College Open in Jamestown, NY. Wrestling is slated to begin at 9:30 AM.
