DALLAS, PA – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles were back on the mats on Thursday night, falling in their first dual of the 2025 calendar year with the Cougars of Misericordia University, 53-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After forfeiting the weight classes of 125 lbs., 133 lbs., and 141 lbs., the Elmira College Soaring Eagles were unable to get any results in their favor as they took a 53-0 loss.
The forfeits spotted the Cougars an 18-point lead from the start, making it a tall task to come back from.
Bryan Stafford '26 was EC's only athlete to reach a decision before the referee ruled in favor of Jariel Severino for Misericordia.
Casey Cooper '25 and Hollis Berry '25 each almost made the full six minutes, with both lasting 5:54, before ultimately giving way to technical falls.

The Soaring Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, January 18, as they travel back to Pennsylvania. The Purple & Gold will compete in the Will Abele Invitational Tournament, hosted by Ursinus College. Wrestling begins at 10:00 AM.
