Women's Wrestling Battles at ESU Duals to Finish Tied for Sixth

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Elmira College women's wrestling team traveled to compete in the ESU Warrior Duals for their first dual competition of the season. The duals featured 12 teams in total, seeing Elmira finish in a tie for sixth place.

SOARING EAGLES DROP TO LEHIGH, 33-15
In their first match of the day, the Soaring Eagles went head-to-head with Lehigh but just missed the mark 33-15. Megan Edwards notched a fall at 2:02 along with Zoey Lints recording her fall at 1:52. Alexis Bilka-Durdon recorded point courtesy of a forfeit in her weight class to round out Elmira's 15 points.

ELMIRA SLIPS PAST LIBERTY, 28-20
In their second match of the day, the Soaring Eagles were met with the Flames of Liberty University. Elmira quickly distinguished the Flames to secure the first victory of the day, 28-20. Edwards opened the scoring for the Soaring Eagles with a 10-0 tech fall in her respective weight class. Gabby Bradigan followed suit with a 10-0 tech fall of her own paired with Lints recording the fall at 0:26.

Talia Robles carried the Soaring Eagles momentum forward by pinning her opponent at 1:27. Bilka-Durdon and Oyedeles Rodriguez Santia followed suit with forfeits in their respective weight classes to secure the victory.

PURPLE & GOLD FALL SHORT TO SACRED HEART, 34-12
In their third match of the day, Elmira went head-to-head with Sacred Heart and fell short 34-12. Edwards, Bradigan, and Lints contributed in their respective weight classes. Edwards marked a 10-0 tech fall while Bradigan secured the 8-6 victory by decision, while Lints marked a fall at 0:33.

SOARING EAGLES COLLECT 24-18 VICTORY OVER MARYMOUNT
In their fourth match of the day, Elmira met with Marymount and were able to secure the 24-18 victory. Once again, Edwards opened the scoring with a fall at 1:21 followed by Bradigan with a fall of her own at 0:22. Lints and Robles carried the momentum forward, seeing Lints notch a 10-0 tech fall while Robles recorded a 14-4 tech fall. Rodri Joycedeliz Rodriguez Santia rounds it out for the Soaring Eagles with a fall at 4:47.

ELMIRA DOMINATES NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE, 29-15
In their fifth match of the day, Elmira competed against New England College and put up dominating numbers, 29-15. Edwards opened the match with a 10-0 tech fall followed by Bradigan with a forfeit in her respective weight class.
Lints recorded her third fall of the afternoon at 0:23 along with Robles securing the victory win.

PURPLE & GOLD STUMBLE TO BROCK, 34-11
In their sixth match of the day, the Soaring Eagles competed against Brock where they dropped their guards and stumbled, 34-11. Bradigan secured points for the Soaring Eagles right off the bat with a fall at 2:27. Lints followed suit with another pin for herself at 1:28.

SOARING EAGLES DROP DUAL TO WESTERN NEW ENGLAND, 32-15
In their final match of the day, the Soaring Eagles went head-to-head with Western New England where they shortly missed the mark, 32-15. Lints, Rodriguez Santia, and Edwards were the only three to score in their respective weight classes. Lints notched the fall against her opponent at 0:44 while Rodriguez Santa received a bye. Rounding out for EC, Ewards recorded the pin at 2:07.

The Soaring Eagles remain on the road for a non-conference dual at Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, PA on Thursday, December 4. The match is slated to start at 6:00 PM.
