ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira College women's ice hockey team hosted the SUNY Potsdam Bears inside the Murray Athletic Center for their second matchup of the weekend. A closely contested match ended with the Soaring Eagles just missing the mark, 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Bears wasted no time in netting their lone goal of the match, coming in the first three minutes of play.
- The Soaring Eagles pushed on offense, recording nine shots compared to the Bears three, but were unable to find the back of the net.
- Elmira had a power play opportunity at 11:49 in the first period and recorded three shots but were unable to capitalize.
- Another power play opportunity came at 2:10 in the second period but Elmira was unable to knot the score.
- Sara Sevickova '28 stopped 18 out of 19 shots that she faced between the pipes for the Soaring Eagles. Elmira was unable to solve SUNY Potsdam goaltender Magalie Parent, who stopped all 35 shots by the Purple & Gold.
- The Bears finished the contest with 19 blocked shots, while the Soaring Eagles registered nine blocked shots.
UP NEXT: The Soaring Eagles will travel for their first road contest at St. John Fisher on Friday, November 14 to open UCHC play. The match is set for 6:00 PM.
