NORTHFIELD, VT – The Elmira College Soaring Eagles wrapped up their 2024-25 season with a 3-2 first round loss in the NEHC playoffs to Norwich.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Soaring Eagles went down 1-0 just 74 seconds into the game as the Cadets got a goal from Johnny Johnson.

Chance Gorman '24 scored in his final collegiate game, tying the game at one. Ryan Reifler '24 and Shane Haviland '24 picked up assists on Gorman's power-play tally.

A late first period goal for Norwich sent the teams to the rooms with the Cadets holding a 2-1 lead.

Another tally for the Cadets made it 3-1 just before the midpoint in regulation time.

A late power-play goal from Reifler made it a one-goal game with under a minute to play. Reifler redirected Gorman's shot and gave the Soaring Eagles life.

A penalty called on Elmira with 40 seconds left killed any chance of the Soaring Eagles tying the game.

Kyle Curtin '26 finished with 27 saves while facing 30 shots. Sami Molu turned away 27 of 29 attempts from the Purple & Gold at the other end.
