HORSEHEADS, N.Y. – The Soaring Eagles erupted for 19 runs in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday as Elmira split its matchup against the Penn State Altoona Lions at the Holding Point Recreation Complex. Elmira won game one 19-5 against the Lions before falling 19-9 in game two of the twin bill.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Soaring Eagles manufactured a seven-run bottom of the second inning in game one to take an 8-0 lead against the Lions.
- Gabe Fellows produced a pair of runs for EC with a single, while Brett Warden later brought home a pair of runs with a single to make it 7-0 in favor of the Purple & Gold.
- Kaden Bolt clubbed his second home run of the season for Elmira in the third inning as his two-run shot to left field increased the Soaring Eagles' advantage to 10-0.
- In the fifth inning, Warden plated two more runs for Elmira with a single to right field as Fellows and Matteo Salvati both scored to make it 12-1.
- Alex Dinicola started a six-run rally in the sixth inning for the Purple & Gold with a single that scored Salvati and Bobby Cavalier to make it 15-4.
- Connor Stone would also plate a pair of runs in the frame for EC with a double to push the lead to 17-4 for the Soaring Eagles.
- Elmira would bat around in the sixth, as Cavalier singled to left field to allow a pair of runs to score and make it 19-4 in favor of the Purple & Gold.
- First-year pitcher Robert Shabouk earned his first collegiate win on the mound for Elmira after working one inning.
- In game two, Elmira trimmed a six-run deficit in the second inning to 6-4 as Ryan Trenholm plated two runs with a single. EC also scored runs in the frame off a fielder's choice and a throwing error.
- Elmira rallied again with four runs in the fourth inning as Sean Deaner highlighted the frame with a two-run single into right field.
