HAMBURG, N.Y. –
Troy Cammer gave the Elmira College men's lacrosse team an early lead in the contest, and the Soaring Eagles scored six goals in the third quarter before dropping a 20-9 decision against the Hilbert College Hawks on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Troy Cammer gave the Soaring Eagles a 1-0 lead in the contest after taking a feed from Corbin Melie at the 14:27 mark.
- Hilbert would notch its first goal of the contest at the 8:21 mark to knot the score 1-1. The Hawks followed with five more goals to take a 6-1 advantage with 5:40 remaining in the second quarter.
- Melie ended the Hawks' scoring run by getting the Purple & Gold back on the scoreboard with 4:57 left in the second quarter, making it 6-2. Hilbert added one more goal before the end of the first half to take a 7-2 lead into the break.
- Melie opened the scoring in the third quarter for Elmira with a goal less than a minute into action, as Chance Gorman would get credit for the assist. Gorman would later net his first goal of the season off an assist from Melie to trim the deficit to 10-4.
- Elmira scored a pair of goals to pull within 11-6 of the Hawks with 4:17 left in the third quarter after goals from Melie and Cammer.
- The Soaring Eagles would later trim the deficit to 12-8 with just over a minute left in the quarter as Luke Jata and Melie found the back of the net.
- Melie scored Elmira's final goal with 7:24 left in the fourth quarter, and Hilbert would go on to score the final four goals to secure the 20-9 victory.
- Meile paced the Soaring Eagles with five goals and three assists in the contest, while Gorman added one goal and four assists in his first game of the season. Cammer finished with a pair of goals for EC and recorded 10 groundballs.
- Elmira goalkeeper Isaac Craft recorded 17 saves in the contest, while Tyler Germer was 21-of-29 in the faceoff circle for the Soaring Eagles.
