SMITHFIELD, RI – The Elmira College Cheerleading program earned its 14
th Gold-Paid Bid to the National Cheerleaders Association Championships after the Coed team finished second overall at the NCA College Cheer Camp out of 40 programs.
This year's NCA College Camp was held at the Chace Athletic Center on the campus of Bryant University. Seven Gold-Paid Bids were awarded after three days of competition, classes, camper, and staff votes. The Soaring Eagles Coed team finished second in the overall standings behind the University of New Hampshire All-Girl team.
Elmira's all-girl team earned a Bronze-Paid Bid to NCA College Nationals after the Soaring Eagles finished first ahead of Bridgewater State with their Game Day Cheer. The Soaring Eagles then took second place to Bridgewater State with their Rally Routine.
The Coed team finished second in Game Day Cheer behind Montclair State and secured a first-place result in Rally Routine ahead of Montclair State. Elmira also had three members named NCA All-Americans following the event (Lauren Mis,
Mary Benjamin, and
Shea Ferreira).
The 2026 NCA & NDA College Nationals are scheduled for April 8-11, 2026, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Elmira won its fourth NCA National Championship this past April, competing against other Division III programs in the Advanced Small Coed Division. The Soaring Eagles also finished third with their All-Girl team competing in the Division III Advanced All-Girl Division.
