ELMIRA, N.Y. - The Elmira College flag football team soared to a 66-0 shutout victory over Daemen University at Campus Field yesterday afternoon. Hannah Smith recorded 216 passing yards with seven touchdowns with Amarionah Dixon tallying three of the seven.

EC went for a one-point attempt to elevate Elmira 7-0. Daemen looked to work down field but a pick-six from Amarionah Dixon moved the Soaring Eagles to 14-0.
EC continued to soar with Jenica Jones opening with a five-yard rush to the Daemen 15. A pitchback to Nyla Capen and Olivia Kehler pushed the ball 12-yards up field, seeing Smith compete a five-yard touchdown pass to Kylie Hook to give EC the 20-0 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

The Soaring Eagles opened the second quarter at the Daemen 28 with Jones rushing for a gain of 20-yards. Smith found Capen in the end zone with a successful PAT rush for a 28-0 lead. Elmira's defensive efforts held Daemen scoreless, seeing them regain possession at the Daemen 14. On the first play of the drive, Capen rushes in for the touchdown followed by a successful Smith to Jones PAT pass (35-0) closing the first half.

The third quarter opened with an Elmira interception from Faith Ingber, returned for a 35-yard touchdown (41-0). The Soaring Eagles continued to tack onto their score with a 16-yard touchdown featuring Smith to Dixon, giving Elmira the 47-0 advantage. EC's defense continued to hold Daemen scoreless, seeing Dixon mark another pick-six and successful pass PAT attempt (52-0) to close the quarter.

The final quarter of play saw Daemen work the ball up field the best they had all day but was no match for a strong EC defensive unit.
