41^st Annual Athletics Alumni Weekend
Dates: January 19-20, 2024

The Elmira College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that the Soaring Eagles will host the 41^st annual Athletics Alumni Weekend from Friday, January 19, through Saturday, January 20. Your RSVP is requested to allow us to order the proper amounts of free food and drinks and the event is open to the entire campus community. 

On January 19, the Soaring Eagles Athletic and Alumni Staff will again host a Happy Hour Alumni Event at Rye Bar (365 Davis St, Elmira, NY 14901) from 6:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. The indoor/outdoor event will feature free beer (while supplies last) along with specialty food outside at the Annex that can be ordered and purchased. Other food off of the menu will be available to order indoors as well. The Elmira College Cheerleading Program will also be holding an open practice at the Murray Athletic Center from 4:00 p.m until 6:00 p.m, while men's ice hockey takes on Southern Maine (7:00 PM; Murray Athletic Center). Additionally, the men's & women's basketball teams will take on Utica inside Speidel Gymnasium, with the women tipping off at 5:30 PM, followed by the men. At halftime of the men's basketball game, the men's soccer team will be honored for capturing the 2023 Empire 8 Men's Soccer Championship. 

On January 20, women's volleyball and men's basketball will hold alumni games inside Speidel Gymnasium at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, respectively. Additionally, men's and women's ice hockey will host their alumni contest at the Murray Athletic Center, beginning at 11:00 AM. There will be a hospitality room available in the Emerson Lounge from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM, along with a hospitality station avaliable at the Murray Athletic Center from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. 
 
In addition, the Soaring Eagles Men’s & Women’s Basketball teams will be in action again inside Speidel Gymnasium against the Wolves from Keuka College. The women's game is set for a 2:00 p.m tip-off with the men's game to follow at 4:00 p.m. Men's ice hockey will take on Babson College at the Murray Athletic Center, beggining at 4:00 PM. During intermission of the men's ice hockey game, the men's soccer team will be honored once again for capturing the 2023 Empire 8 Men's Soccer Championship. At both the Murray Athletic Center and in Emerson Hall, there will be alumni social's following each of the basketball and ice hockey contests.

Additionally, former Elmira ice hockey head coach and seven-time Stanley Cup Champion Barry Smith will be honored with a ceremonial puck drop during the weeknd.
