Joe Buonemani

Joe Buonemani begins his second season as an assistant baseball coach at Elmira College during the 2020-21 academic year.

Buonemani comes to Elmira after spending the spring season with Williams College and the summer with the North Adams Steeplecats in North Adams, Massachusetts. While with the Steeplecats, Buonemani was responsible for organizing the team’s batting practice and was charged with the team’s bullpen.

During his time at Williams, Buonemani served as the Ephs’ hitting and catching coach, while also acting as a bullpen coach and first base coach. Working with former EC assistant coach Matt Colbert, Buonemani was part of the staff that helped guide Williams to the semifinals of the 2019 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships.

Prior to his time at Williams, Buonemani transitioned from player to coach at his alma mater, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. In addition to his role as a catching, infield, outfield, and hitting coach, he assisted in the full recruiting efforts of the program.

As a student-athlete, Buonemani spent two years on the team at Southern Vermont College before transferring to MCLA in 2016. Between both institutions, Buonemani made 33 appearances as a plug-and-play utility man.

While at Elmira, Buonemani will be pursuing a master’s in Management.
