2024-25 Season
Appeared in 22 games... Registered a season-high three shots in at Norwich (2/15)... Recorded three assists in a 8-1 win against Castleton (2/21)... Finished the season with two goals and 14 assists.
2023-24 Season
Appeared in a career-high 27 contests as a senior for the Soaring Eagles... Tallied career-highs in goals (3), assists (7), and points (10)... Recorded a pair of goals on the road against Babson (11/10)... Notched a pair of assists in a 6-2 victory at home against Johnson & Wales (12/1)... Netted his first career power-play goal along with one assist in a 7-0 victory against Brockport (12/9)... Added one assist on Senior Day in a 4-3 victory against Castleton along with one assist against Babson in the NEHC Tournament.
2022-23 Season
Appeared in seven games for the Soaring Eagles, taking six shots during the season while Elmira went 5-2 in games he skated in…won eight faceoffs during the season, while posting an 80% success rate inside the circle.
2021-22 Season
Went on to skate in 12 games for the Soaring Eagles, recording five points on the season (1G, 4A)...was credited with the game-winning goal in Elmira’s 4-3 win at SUNY Brockport (12/7) for his lone tally of the season…recorded assists in four games during the year, including three straight appearances against Lebanon Valley (12/10), #1 SUNY Geneseo (12/11), and #6 Hobart (1/22).
2020-21 Season
Appeared in just three games for the Soaring Eagles during the COVID-19 shortened season where Elmira earned its first UCHC title…recorded four points (2G, 2A) during the season, all coming against Nazareth in Elmira’s 10-0 win (2/28) where he earned UCHC Rookie of the Week honors for his performance…finished the season with a .667 shot percentage, netting a pair of goals on three shots.
Before Elmira
A 2017 graduate of Wall High School in Wall, New Jersey...Lettered in golf and ice hockey during his prep career...Led Wall's ice hockey team to its first-ever Shore Conference title and state tournament berth as a senior...Was named the Shore Conference Ice Hockey Player of the Year in 2017 after scoring 36 goals with 19 assists...Split three years of junior hockey with the Springfield Jr. Blues and New Jersey Titans organizations...Ended his junior career in 2019-20 with 33 points (8g-25a) for the Titans.
Personal
Shane is a Business Administration & Finance double-major. He follows in the footsteps of his father, Mike Haviland '90, a former Elmira All-American and Stanley Cup-winning coach with the Chicago Blackhawks. Shane is also a member of the EC men's golf team.
