2013 Season
Appeared in 33 matches leading the team with 1,188 assists and finishing fourth in the nation averaging 10.15 assists per set. He earned UVC All-Conference First Team for his great performance and was chosen for 2013 USA D3 All-Star Team. He finished second on the team with 204 digs (1.74/set) and 59 blocks (0.50/set), while also recording 32 service aces and 59 kills. 

2012 Season
Michael played in the most sets (145) during his second season as a Soaring Eagle, while registering team-highs in assists (1,402) and solo blocks (36). Vellutato finished second on the team in aces (38) and total blocks (81), and third in digs (197) and assisted blocks (45). He was named UVC Player of the Week Jan. 22nd and he was also named to the UVC All-Conference Second Team.
 
2011 Season
Orchestrated the Elmira attack with 1,032 assists as well as registering 140 digs and a team-high 46 solo blocks. He was named to the UVC Honorable Mention Team.

Secondary School
Earned a gold medal in Junior Olympics 15-1's as a member of the Riptides. Claimed a fourth place finish during Junior Olympics 18-1's in 2009. Was a member of the California High Performance Volleyball Team. Participated in three years of Varsity Volleyball at Redondo earning All-Bay League honors during his final two seasons.

Personal
Michael is a Psychology major and a Mark Twain scholar.
