Sam Crane joined the Elmira College women's soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach in January of 2021.
A native of nearby Corning, New York, Crane excelled at Corning-Painted Post High School. Not only did she lead the team to a sectional title in 2011, but she was rewarded with Class AA First-Team All-State honors after logging nine goals and 13 assists that season. Crane then played four seasons at Division I Binghamton University from 2012-15, appearing in 56 games as an outside back and forward for the Bearcats.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in English, General Literature and Rhetoric, Crane traveled overseas to Durham University in England, where she received a master's in Education while playing for the Durham soccer team. That season, Durham went undefeated and won a national title.
Since returning stateside, Crane has served as a youth coach for the Soaring Capital Soccer Club here in Elmira.
