Jim McIntyre

Jim McIntyre was hired in early August of 2024, becoming the 16th head coach in program history. McIntyre comes to Elmira from Wells College, where he served as head coach of the men's program for the past five seasons, beginning in 2019. While with the Express, McIntyre mentored and conducted all aspects of the program, including both tactical awareness and off-campus community service initiatives. While serving as head coach, McIntyre mentored Jungar Vargar, who was a three-time NEAC All-Conference award winner, which is now known as the United East Conference.

In addition to his coaching duties, McIntyre was named the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities in August of 2022, where he ordered and coordinated the maintenance of all sports program equipment, while budgeting and leading the maintenance of athletic facilities, scoreboards, turf, and fitness centers. In February of this year, McIntyre took on the additional role of the interim head coach of the women's soccer program.

McIntyre's roots at Wells date back to 2016, where he began as the Goalkeeping/Fitness Coach of both the men's and women's soccer programs. Under his instruction and observation, Owen May became the all-time wins leader among goalkeepers at Wells College and earned two all-conference selections.

Prior to his time in Aurora, New York, McIntyre led the Cazenovia College men's soccer program from 2009-12.

McIntyre earned a bachelor's degree in sports and recreation management from Ashford University in 2012 and a master's in athletic administration from Concordia University in 2017. He was the owner and head trainer at Get Fit Fitness and continues to volunteer at Holding Onto Hope, which supports individuals and families in Wayne County affected by cancer.
