Gilbert played the hero for the field hockey team against Wells College, lifting EC to their first win of 2014. She took seven shots against the Express, including four on goal, but all that mattered was the shot she took with 1:31 left in overtime. That shot found the back of the cage, giving Gilbert her first goal of the season and the Soaring Eagles a thrilling 1-0 victory.
 
Gilbert and the field hockey team look for their first Empire 8 win of the season when they travel to Nazareth College on Wednesday, September 24th for a 4:00 p.m. game.
