Women’s Basketball Suffers a Tough Loss in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA – The Elmira College Women's Basketball Team dropped a tough game on the road to Carnegie Mellon 70-59. The Soaring Eagles struggled from the field again shooting just above 33% for jumpers while the Tartans shot just under 50%. The Soaring Eagles drop to 0-2, while the Tartans improve to 1-0.

The game started off even going back and forth between both teams. Four minutes into the first half, Elmira started to take a lead and stay on top of the Tartans for about nine minutes. With seven minutes left in the half Carnegie Mellon started to fight a little harder would eventually retain a six point lead going into half time.

In the beginning the Soaring Eagles had opportunities to keep the game close with the lead being cut down to four points.
