Oneonta, NY – The EC Women's Basketball team traveled to take on the Hawks of Hartwick College in Empire 8 action.  Today marks the final game of the 2010-11 season for this year's Soaring Eagles.

The Hawks would get out to a fast start as they put up 13 straight points on the Soaring Eagles.  A three-pointer from Casey Bartles '14 (Massapequa, NY -- Massapequa) put an end to scoring drought at the 15:38 mark.  Hartwick would go on another run as they outscored Elmira 14-to-5 for the next 6 minutes of action.  EC would buckle down and end the half on a 16-to-5 run bring the halftime score to 32-24.

The second half would be all Hartwick as they held the Soaring Eagles to 15 second half points.  EC would go on to drop the contest 63-39, bringing their 2010-11 record to 5-20 (2-14 Empire8).  Elmira was led on offense by Mariah Thannhauser '14 (Newfield, NY -- Newfield) and Becca Fretz '11 (Kunkletown, PA -- Pleasant Valley) as they combined for 23 points and 8 rebounds.  Other fourth year player Becky Peterman '11 (Glen Gardner, NJ -- Voorhees) has a solid game as she grabbed 7 boards and tallied 6 assists.
