Hoboken, NJ – The Elmira College Men's Soccer team was unable to score as it fell 3-0 on the road Saturday afternoon at Stevens. The win improves the Ducks to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in Empire 8 competition, while the loss drops the Soaring Eagles to 10-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Stevens controlled the game throughout with a 23-4 shots advantage, including a 14-3 edge in the opening half. The Ducks got the scoring started in the 25th minute when Leonardo Casas played a nice pass to Curtis Stecyk who beat EC keeper
Kevin Huggins '16 (Cooperstown, NY -- Cooperstown) with a long header for the early 1-0 lead, which Stevens took into halftime.
Less than a minute into the second half the Ducks tacked on another score as Kevin Calloway crossed the ball from right to left into the box where Stephen Dunbar put it in the back of the net to extend the lead to two. Ten and a half minutes later Dunbar tallied his second score of the contest as the Ducks cruised to victory.
Huggins finished with six saves in the loss for Elmira, while Paul Killian made two saves in the win for the Ducks.
The EC Men's Soccer team returns to action Tuesday when it travels to Keuka Park, NY to take on Keuka College starting at 7:00 p.m.
