Men’s Soccer Blanked on the Road at Houghton

Houghton, NY – The Elmira College Men's Soccer team was unable to find the back of the net as it fell on the road 1-0 to Houghton College Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Highlanders to 9-5-1 overall and 3-2 in Empire 8 competition, while the loss drops the Soaring Eagles to 11-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

Both defenses proved to be strong as the two teams combined for just 14 shots and three shots on goal in the contest. Houghton held a 9-5 shots and 2-1 shots on goal edge in the game. The Highlanders got on the board at the 31:40 mark when Karrel Kuwong fed Paul Seddon for the game's only goal.

Ryan Bertsch '16 finished with Elmira's only shot on target in the game. Kevin Huggins '16 made one save for the Soaring Eagles, while Tyler Mastin also stopped one shot for Houghton.

The EC Men's Soccer team returns to action Saturday, October 27th when it hosts Utica College on Class of 2013 Recognition Day starting at 3:00 p.m. on Campus Field.
