Men’s Volleyball Suffers Tough Losses to Carthage and MSOE

Kenosha, WI – The EC Men's Volleyball team lost two straight matches on the second day of the Carthage-MSOE Tournament on Sunday. The Soaring Eagles fell to No. 3 Carthage College 3-0 (20-25, 13-25, 23-25) and the Milwaukee School of Engineering 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 21-25). With these losses the Soaring Eagles drop to 18-13 overall.

Against Carthage, the Soaring Eagles struggled to find its offensive rhythm allowing the Redmen to easily win the first and second sets. In the third set Elmira fought hard bringing the match within one or two points several times, but in the end the Redmen got the better hand holding off the late EC surge.

The Raiders were able to gain the lead early in both sets and hold off EC to go up two sets to none. In the third set the Soaring Eagles were able to bring the game a little closer, but the Raiders proved to be too strong earning the victory.
