Elmira, NY – The Elmira College Men's Volleyball team is ranked 14th nationally in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll released on Tuesday.
The Soaring Eagles are the only team this week to jump into the top 15 poll, while previously being unranked. EC received 23 total points in the poll and sits ahead of 15th ranked Emmanuel by four points.
Other United Volleyball Conference teams also ranked in the Coaches Poll include SUNY New Paltz (12th), Vassar (10th), Medaille (9th), Stevens (8th), Nazareth (7th) and NYU (6th).
Elmira currently sits at 15-9 overall on the season and 5-2 in the UVC. EC returns to action this weekend when it travels to Nazareth College for the second UVC Crossover Weekend. The Purple and Gold take on three ranked teams as they square off with Stevens at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, NYU at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, and SUNY New Paltz at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
