Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's soccer team will look for their first Empire 8 Conference win this weekend when the Soaring Eagles make the trip to Hoboken, NJ to face Stevens Tech on Saturday, October 11th at 1:00 p.m..

Last Time Out
In their last contest, Elmira suffered a 3-1 loss to Empire 8 Conference rival Ithaca College.  The EC men surrendered a goal in the first five minutes of the first half and another in the closing seconds of the half, an early deficit that Elmira could not overcome.  Donte Donegal '18 scored EC's lone goal of the contest in the 65th minute, a goal that cut the Ithaca lead to one at the time.  However, Elmira was unable to complete the comeback as the Soaring Eagles took their third conference loss of the season.

Top 10 in the Nation
Elmira's Jordan Dougherty '16 continues to shine in net for the Soaring Eagles.  The third-year netminder has produced 61 saves this season and is averaging 8.71 saves per contest, the eighth-most saves per game in all of NCAA Division III men's soccer.

Scouting the Ducks
Stevens Tech enters Saturday's match-up with Elmira with a 7-3-1 overall record and an unblemished 3-0-0 mark in the Empire 8 Conference.  The Ducks are coming off a 1-1 double overtime tie against Swarthmore College, but prior to that, Stevens Tech won five consecutive games all in the form of shutouts.  Stevens is led on offense by reigning Empire 8 Conference Player of the Year, Carson Pryor, who has registered 13 points on five goals and three assists.

Series History
The Ducks of Stevens Tech own a decisive 8-1 edge in the all-time series, one that dates back to the 2007 season when Stevens joined the Empire 8 Conference.  Stevens has won the last six meetings with Elmira's lone victory occurring in the 2009 season when the Soaring Eagles shocked the Ducks on Campus Field, 2-0.

Looking Ahead
Following Saturday's contest, the Soaring Eagles will travel to North Country where Elmira will face SUNY Canton on Wednesday, October 15th at 4:00 p.m.  Last season, Elmira claimed a 2-1 overtime victory against the Roos.
