Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's soccer team will look for their first Empire 8 Conference win of the season this weekend as the Soaring Eagles host the Bombers of Ithaca College this Saturday, October 4th for a conference matchup.  Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Elmira College's Campus Field.

Last Time Out
The Soaring Eagles are coming off a 1-1 double overtime tie against Alfred State.  Elmira surrendered a goal in the 11th minute, but rookie forward Ronaldo Charlton '18 would score the game-tying goal in the 82nd minute.

Probably a One Goal Game
Since 2009, each matchup between Elmira and Ithaca has been decided by one goal. Three of the five game-winning goals were scored in the first half, while the other two came in the second half behind a pair of comeback efforts by both colleges.  In 2011, Elmira scored back-to-back goals in a three minute span to seal a 2-1 win, while in 2009 it was Ithaca who scored two unanswered goals to steal a 2-1 victory.

Series History
Since 2001, the Bombers are 10-3 against the Soaring Eagles.  However, Elmira has gotten the better of Ithaca in recent history as the Purple and Gold have gone 3-1 in their last four meetings.

A Look at the Bombers
The Bombers of Ithaca College enter today's game with a 1-5-2 overall record and a 1-1-0 mark in Empire 8 Conference play.  Ithaca's lone win of the season came against Alfred University, a game that the Bombers dominated, 3-1.

Looking Ahead
Following today's matchup, the Soaring Eagles will have a week off before their next contest as the Elmira men travel to Hoboken, NJ on Saturday, October 11th for an Empire 8 battle with the Ducks of Stevens Tech.
