Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's volleyball team will look for their second consecutive Empire 8 Conference win tomorrow night as the Soaring Eagles host Alfred University at 7:00 p.m. in Speidel Gymnasium.

Last Time Out
The Elmira College women's volleyball team is coming off a thrilling five-set win over Hartwick College.  After trailing 2-sets-to-1, Elmira rallied against the Hawks to pull out a 3-2 win.  The victory over Hartwick gave the Purple and Gold their first Empire 8 Conference win of the season.

Heiman's Career Day
Ashley Heiman '16 had one of her best weekends as a Soaring Eagle when EC hosted Nazareth College and Hartwick College.  She totaled 27 kills and nine blocks in the two matches.  However, it was her play against Hartwick that really stood out as she tied her career-high with 17 kills to guide Elmira to their first Empire 8 Conference win of the season.

Alfred's Offensive Threats
Alfred's focal point on offense will be Chelsea Pietrzykowski '16 and Mary Lou Patnaude '17.  Pietrzykowski leads the Saxons with 115 kills this season, but Patnaude is not far behind with 100.  However, teams have been zeroing in on the two hitters lately as neither player has logged double-digit kills in over two weeks.

Series History
Elmira owns a decisive edge in the series history against Alfred University.  The Soaring Eagles enter tomorrow's match-up riding a 22-match win streak that dates back to the 2000 season.

Looking Ahead
Following tomorrow's match against Alfred, Elmira will play in their home finale on Tuesday, October 14th when the Soaring Eagles welcome the Wildcats of Penn Tech to Speidel Gymnasium for a non-conference showdown at 7:00 p.m.
