Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team will make the short trip to Geneva, NY this weekend for a pair of crucial early-season ECAC West Conference games against Hobart College.  The first of two games is scheduled for Friday, November 21st at 7:30 p.m. at the Geneva Recreation Complex.

Last Time Out
Elmira skated away with their first win of the season last Friday when the Soaring Eagles edged Utica College, 4-3.  Elmira took a commanding 4-1 lead but two third period goals from Utica made things interesting down the stretch.

Home Opening Win
Elmira's win over Utica College last Friday marked the third consecutive home opening win for the Soaring Eagles.  Elmira is now 9-4-3 in home openers dating back to the 1999-00 season.

Best in the West
Elmira's defense has proved to be a tough one to score on this season.  The Soaring Eagles have allowed seven goals in three games for an ECAC West-leading 2.33 goals per game allowed average.

Stellar Second Period
Elmira's defense limited Utica to just three shots on goal in the second period of Friday's game. Utica's three shots are the fewest allowed by Elmira since the 2012-13 season when EC held Manhattanville College to three shots in the first period on November 30, 2012.  Prior to the Manhattanville game, Elmira limited Neumann University to two shots in the second period on November 3, 2012.

All-Time vs. Hobart
The Soaring Eagles have faced the Statesmen of Hobart College 77 times.  Elmira owns a decisive edge in the all-time series at 56-19-2.  Elmira went 2-2 against the Statesmen last year, picking up a road win and a victory on home ice during the ECAC West Conference Tournament Semifinals.
