Women’s Basketball Comeback Falls Short Against Dallas

Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College women's basketball team (0-2) fell to the University of Dallas (1-0) 71-51 today. The Purple and Gold had two players score in double-digits today, with Jessica Brooks '16 leading all with a career-high12 points and added three rebounds in today's action.
 
Reigning Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week, Danielle Cleary '18, also netted 11 points and added five assists and three rebounds while Karli Pochkar '18 chipped in eight points, five rebounds, and an assist. Meghan Loya '16 led the team in rebounds with nine and also poured in seven points today.
 
Dallas took control of the game early, scoring the game's first six points and took a 23 point lead with 8:05 left in the first half. Elmira would finish the first half trailing the Lady Crusaders, 22-41.
 
Despite Dallas' 19 point lead heading into the locker room, the Soaring Eagles took control early in the second. The Lady Crusaders scored the first three points of the second half but EC responded with scoring the game's next 12 points, to cut Dallas' lead to just eight points. However, The Lady Crusaders would regroup and finish the game with a 71-51 point lead.
 
The Purple and Gold will play the second game of the University of Dallas Tip-Off Classic tomorrow, November 22nd against the Centenary College of Louisiana at 2:00 p.m.
