College Hockey Stats Box Score

Babson Park, MA -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team (2-4-1, 2-2-1 ECAC West) fell to No. 6 Babson College (8-0-0, 4-0-0 ECAC East) 2-1 today. Nick Owen '17 scored EC's lone goal of the day while Ryan deMelo '15 made 41 saves in today's action.
 
Neither team found the scoreboard in the first period.  Babson held the shot advantage in the first, 12-10.
 
Babson would find the scoreboard first 8:12 into the second period after capitalizing on the man-up advantage. Owen evened things up 2:25 later after receiving a pass across the blue line from Nick Okada '18 and ripped a shot past the Beavers' goaltender on the power-play opportunity. Brian Depp '16 was also credited with an assist on the play while Okada's assist marks his first of his young career. The Beavers took a 2-1 lead with 4:28 minutes left in the first period. Babson outshot the Soaring Eagles 16-8 in the period.
 
Both team's goalies didn't allow a goal in the third period. The Beavers took a 15-7 shot advantage in the third and a 43-25 in the game.
 
Elmira will compete next on December 2nd when the Purple and Gold travel to Fredonia State. The puck is set to drop at 7:00 p.m.
