New York, NY -- The Elmira College men's volleyball team (11-6, 2-3 UVC) capped off the Baruch Tournament in grand fashion as they swept Emmanuel College, 3-0. The Soaring Eagles went straight to business as the EC men took the first set, 25-17. The Purple and Gold stay focused in the second set and won 25-17, and closed out the match with a 25-23 win in the third set. Michael Velluato '14 was named on the All-Tournament team for his efforts over the weekend, as he finished the tournament with 93 assists.

The Soaring Eagles were led offensively by Erik Griffin '16, Ryan Gelentitis '14 and Mike Ellison '16. Griffin and Gelenitis both recorded 11 kills while Ellison tallied 10 in the victory. Vellutato set up the offense with 35 assists while Griffin and Gelenitis combined for five aces in the victory.

The Purple and Gold showed a balanced defense in today's victory as four different players recorded double digit digs. Rob Shade '15 led all with 13 digs while Griffin, Vellutato and Gelenitis all recorded 10 digs a piece. Ellison was right behind the foursome as he helped out with nine digs in today's match as well.

The Purple and Gold will be back in action this Wednesday, February 26^th, when they travel to D'Youville College for a UVC matchup. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
