Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team continues their non-conference schedule tonight and tomorrow with a pair of games against SUNYAC opponents, SUNY Geneseo and Brockport State. Faceoff for tonight's away game at Geneseo is set for 7:00 p.m. while tomorrow night's home contest against Brockport is slated for 7:00 p.m. as well.

Last Time Out
Elmira is coming off a thrilling 6-4 win at home against Buffalo State.  The Soaring Eagles trailed 3-2 with less than three minutes to play but three unanswered goals by Brian Depp '16, Carter Shinkaruk '16, and Andrew Ciampichini '15 in the final 2:14 of the third period sealed a two-goal victory for Elmira.

Thrilling Comeback
In Elmira's two-goal win over Buffalo State, the Soaring Eagles evened the game with 2:14 to play and scored the game-winning goal with just 1:41 remaining in regulation.  The last time Elmira trailed as late in a game and still managed to pull out the victory in regulation play dates back to January 10, 2001 when EC scored the game-tying-goal against SUNY Geneseo with 6:31 left in the third period before knocking-in the game-winner with 3:26 left in regulation.

Welcome Back
After missing four straight games with an injury, Micahel Collins '16 returned to Elmira's lineup last Tuesday against Buffalo State.  In his return, Collins turned in a three-point performance, scoring two goals and assisting on one other.

Sal Gets the Win
Sal Magliocco '17 got the start in net for Elmira against Buffalo State and made 28 saves the 6-4 win.  The Soaring Eagles are 8-3 over the last two seasons when Magliocco's save totals are between 20-29.

Scouting Geneseo
After reaching the NCAA Tournament Semifinals in 2013-14, the Knights of SUNY Geneseo have struggled to reach the heights they achieved last season as they enter Friday's game with a 6-4-2 overall record.  One of Geneseo's strengths this season has been their defensive efforts as the Knights boast the nation's eighth best scoring defense, limiting teams to 2.00 goals per game.  Geneseo also owns the nation's third best penalty kill unit, successfully killing off 90.9 percent of their opponents' power-play opportunities.

Scouting Brockport
After beginning the year 0-3, the Golden Eagles have hit their stride midway through the season as they enter tonight's game on a five-game winning streak, outscoring their opponents 17-6 in those games. Additionally the Golden Eagles have enjoyed success on the power play as 12 of their 37 goals this season have been scored with an extra skater.  Leading the way on the power play has been rookie Chase Nieuwendyk '18 who is tied for third in the country in power-play goals with five.  Nieuwendyk is also Brockport's leading scorer with 14 points on eight goals and six assists.
