Last Time Out
Elmira picked up a 3-0 win on the road against Alfred University last Wednesday, as the Soaring Eagles improved to 8-4 on the season and 2-2 in Empire 8 Conference play. EC flexed their muscle early in the match, as the Purple and Gold won the first set in dominant fashion, 25-11. The Soaring Eagles would go on to win the second and third sets with 25-19 and 25-23 score lines, respectively. With the win, Elmira has won 26 straight against the Saxons and are 40-11 against Alfred all-time.

Career High Digs
Amanda Blinkinsop '16 has been a key defensive player for Elmira this season, as her 142 digs leads the Soaring Eagles. She made a match-high 20 digs in Elmira's win over Alfred, which is not only a season-high but also ties her career-high.  Blinkinsop's other 20-dig match occurred on October 5, 2013, in a five set match against Houghton College.

Kaznowski Maintains Steady Play
Rookie setter Taylor Kaznowski '19 has enjoyed a very productive season for the Soaring Eagles, as the Hamburg, NY native has logged double-digit assists in all 12 of Elmira's matches this year. Against Alfred, Kaznowski finished with 28 assists, marking the seventh time this season she has posted 20 or more and the third consecutive match with 20-plus assists.

Middles Getting it Done
Against the Saxons, Elmira registered 10 assisted blocks, which is the second-highest total EC has produced in 2015. Middle hitters Ashley Heiman '16 and Kelsey Ray '17 led the charge with four assisted blocks apiece. The duo have combined for 42 total blocks this season, with Ray leading the Soaring Eagles with 23 (18 assisted and five solo).
