Elmira, NY -- The Elmira College men's soccer team will look to extend its unbeaten streak to seven games tomorrow, October 14th, when the Soaring Eagles welcome the Roos of SUNY Canton to Campus Field for a non-conference game. Tomorrow's contest is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Soaring Eagles are coming off another 110 minute game, as the Elmira men went on the road and played Nazareth College to a 2-2 double overtime draw. Michael Bryant '17 scored both of EC's goals in the tie, bringing his season total to an Empire 8 Conference-leading 12 goals. Tony Barraco '18 was credited with an assist on Bryant's first goal of the afternoon, bringing his season total to a team-leading six assists. Fourth-year netminder Austin Mansell '16 made four saves in the tie, including a pair of stops in the second half.

National Recognition
After missing the 2014 campaign, Michael Bryant '17 has had a breakout 2015 season with 27 points on 12 goals and three assists. His 1.2 goals per game average ranks fourth in NCAA Division III men's soccer and his 2.7 points per game is the sixth-highest average in the country. Additionally, his 12 goals ranks 12th in the country and his 27 points are good enough for 19th place in the nation.

Unbeaten Streak Reaches Six
After opening the 2015 season by winning just 1-of-5 games, the Soaring Eagles have hit their stride during the heart of their schedule. Elmira is unbeaten in its last six games, going 3-0-3 during that time. EC's six game unbeaten streak is the longest the program has experienced since the 2012 season, when the Purple and Gold began the year with eight consecutive wins.

Series History
The Soaring Eagles own a 4-1 record in the all-time series, one that is relatively new as it dates back to the 2011 season.  Elmira and SUNY Canton have met at least once every year since 2011, including the 2012 season when the two teams faced each other twice, once during the regular season and once in the ECAC Tournament Semifinals. EC saw its four-game win streak snapped on the road last year, as the Roos topped the Soaring Eagles, 4-1.

Scouting SUNY Canton
The Roos of SUNY Canton have had a streaky season to say the least. After opening the season with seven straight losses, Canton rattled-off four consecutive victories. However, since then, the Roos have dropped two straight. Canton has struggled away from home, going 2-6 in road games this season, with its only two wins coming against Johnson State College and Paul Smith's College. The Roos are led on offense by Hunter Mowery, who has eight points on three goals and two assists. Mowery has been Canton's workhorse this season, as the third-year midfielder has the most minutes played by a field player with 880.

Looking Ahead
Following tomorrow's non-conference game, the Soaring Eagles return to their Empire 8 Conference schedule with a Saturday, October 17th matchup with Houghton College. Saturday's E8 battle is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Campus Field.
