Live Coverage Elmira, NY -- The 2015 regular season is coming closer and closer to an end, as the Elmira College men's soccer team travels today, October 27th, to face King's College of PA in EC's final regular season road trip of the year. Tonight's contest is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. under the lights at King's McCarthy Stadium.
Last Time OutElmira saw its nine-game unbeaten streak come to screeching halt in their most recent contest, one that ended in a 2-1 overtime defeat on the road to Empire 8 Conference leader Ithaca College. The Bombers opened the scoring with a tally by Cody Kiss in the 18th minute, however, the Soaring Eagles answered three minutes later on a
Michael Bryant '17 header. Bryant's goal kept things even through regulation but with the second half coming to a close, the scope to Saturday's contest changed dramatically when EC's
Aidan Gray '19 was hit with a red card. Gray's send-off proved to be the difference, as Ithaca's Brandon Thompson scored the game-winner in the 98th minute.
Eight-Game Goal StreakBryant continues to be Elmira's main scoring threat in 2015 after tallying goals in back-to-back games last week. He has scored in eight consecutive games heading into Tuesday night's bout with King's College, with 12 goals during that time. Bryant is the only player in EC history to score in as many consecutive games in over 14 years.

Austin Mansell '16, and Bryant can enjoy the sight of their names in Elmira College's record book. With 10 career wins, Huggins sits in ninth place in program history for most wins. Mansell's 1.43 goals against average is currently tied for eighth place in Elmira single-season history. Bryant's 18 goals are the second-most scored in a single-season in EC history while his 39 season points are tied for sixth most. Additionally, Bryant's 23 career goals put him in sole possession of eighth place in program history.
Series HistoryThe Soaring Eagles and the Monarchs have faced each other eight times over the years, with their first meeting occurring in 1980. Elmira is 3-4-1 against King's but the Monarchs enter tonight's contest having won three straight games, including last year's 3-0 win over EC. The last time Elmira defeated King's dates back to 1990.
Scouting the MonarchsKing's College sits atop the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom division standings with a 13-3-1 overall record and a 4-1-1 mark in league action. The Monarchs are coming off a 1-0 shutout win against Eastern University in its last contest, thanks to a Daniel Lorandini game-winner in the 47th minute. Lorandini shares the team-lead in points with Brian Fenster, as the duo each have 13 points on the season. Lorandini leads the team with six goals while Fenster shares the team-lead in assists with Tyler Harlan with three. Owen Geedey is King's first choice in net, as he boasts 13 wins, including five shutout victories, and an ultra-impressive 0.66 goals against average.
Looking AheadFollowing Tuesday's road tilt with King's, the Soaring Eagles conclude the 2015 regular season with a home finale on Saturday, October 31st, against Empire 8 Conference rival St. John Fisher College at 3:00 p.m. Saturday's conference bout will also be Elmira's Class of 2016 Recognition Day.
