Oswego, NY -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team (2-11) fell to Oswego State (19-4) in a non-conference matchup today.
Marisa Carr '18 led the EC women with two goals while
Lindsay Wargo '17 stopped nine shots in today's action.
The Lakers took control of the game early in the first as Oswego would out shoot the Purple and Gold 20-3 in the half. The Lakers would head into half time with a lead of 13-0.
Oswego netted the first two goals of the second half in the first 4:21 to up their lead to 15-0.
Kyra McDonald '18 found Carr 7:15 into the half who put EC's first goal of the day on the scoreboard. The Lakers responded 1:32 later with a goal to take a 16-1 lead.
Moorea Spoljaric '16 and Carr scored back-to-back goals to cut Oswego's lead to 16-3 with 13:03 left in regulation time. The Lakers responded with another goal with 6:46 remaining to take a 17-3 lead.
Marissa Mongillo '15 scored EC's final goal of the game with 4:11 left as Oswego registered the game's final two goals to win, 19-4.
The Purple and Gold will compete next on April 18th when the EC women host Utica College in the Empire 8 Conference game at 12:00 p.m.
