ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's basketball team welcomes Pennsylvania College of Technology to Speidel Gymnasium for the second game of its season-long four game homestand on Tuesday, November 29th. The contest is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.

VESPUCCI'S DOUBLE-DOUBLE STREAK

  • She grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds against Shenandoah University on Tuesday and corralled 10 boards against the Bison on Sunday.
  • Vespucci is averaging 7.8 rebounds on the season, more than three above her average from last season.
  • After she scored a career-high 18 points in two straight matchups, the Macedon, New York, native raised her scoring average to 12.0 points per game, almost eight points more than she averaged in her freshman campaign.
  • Vespucci has also seen her playing time increase this season by almost 17 minutes per game.

SEASON-HIGH PERFORMANCE
  • Elmira shot the ball well against Gallaudet, knocking down 31-of-70 attempts (44.3%).
  • The 44.3% shooting from the floor was a season high for the Soaring Eagles. It marks the second game in a row that the Purple and Gold have shot over 40.0%
  • It also marked the eighth time in the last two seasons Elmira has shot 40-percent-or-better from the field.
  • Elmira's 82 points is by far the most that the Soaring Eagles have scored this season.
  • EC has not scored 80 points since a December 2015 win over Penn College, 82-47.
  • The Purple and Gold also played well on the defensive end, as they held the Bison to a season-low 34.6 % from the field.
  • Gallaudet's field goal percentage was the lowest opponent field goal percentage since Elmira's 68-61 victory over Empire 8 Conference foe Alfred University, when the Saxons shot 30.2 % in last season's finale.

PENN COLLEGE AT A GLANCE
  • The Wildcats enter tomorrow's contest still looking for their first win of the season.
  • Penn College's overall record sits at 0-2, after road losses to Thiel College and Westminster College (Pa.).
  • The Wildcats' most recent matchup was a 67-40 defeat at the hands of  Westminster on November 21st.
  • Alicia Ross enters her senior season as the team's top returning scorer from a year ago. Ross averaged 23.1 points per game and earned All-North Eastern Athletic Conference Third Team honors for her play.
  • Her 23.1 points per game was good for second in the NEAC Conference last season.
  • Ross paces the Widcats this season in both points (16.5) and  rebounds (7.0) per game.
  • Sophomore Jane Herman is the only other Wildcat to average double-figure points (11.0).
  • Penn College enters tomorrow's matchup with a very young roster, with only one senior, one junior and seven freshmen.
