Women's Basketball Looks to Extend Home Win Streak vs. Hartwick

ELMIRA, N.Y. --
The Elmira College women's basketball team will look to extend its home win streak to four consecutive games and even its record at .500 on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. against Hartwick College in the 2016-17 Empire 8 Conference opener.

VESPUCCI SEEING DOUBLE
  • Rachel Vespucci extended her streak of consecutive games with a double-double to four with her 15-point, 15-rebound performance in the win over SUNY Cortland before the new year.
  • Over that four-game stretch, Vespucci has averaged 15.5 points and 13.8 rebounds per game.
  • On the season, Vespucci climbed to third place in the Empire 8 in rebounds per game with a team-leading 10.0.
  • Vespucci is the first Soaring Eagle to register a double-double in four straight contests in over 15 years.
  • Vespucci is tied with Megan Brown of Stevens Institute of Technology for the most double-doubles in the Empire 8.
  • Vespucci also ranks second in the E8 and 23rd in the nation with an average of 5.0 offensive rebounds per game.

CAREER BEST FOR GREEN
  • Emily Green has played a crucial role during Elmira's three-game win streak, as she has scored double-digit points in all three contests.
  • Green netted a game- and career-high 21 points last time out to lead the Purple and Gold over SUNY Cortland.
  • Green also tied her previous career bests with seven made field goals and three 3-point field goals.
  • During EC's three-game win streak, Green is averaging 16.3 points per game, as compared to the 7.5 points per game she scored during the first four outings of the year.

  • Johnson is Hartwick's biggest 3-point threat, as she is first among qualifiers in the E8 with a 39.6 3-point field goal percentage and tied for first in made threes per game (3.0).
