ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's soccer team returns home to Campus Field on Tuesday, September 19, for a bout against Wells College. The opening whistle of the non-league matchup is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
EC dropped a non-conference bout to the Bears of SUNY Potsdam, 4-0, in its most recent contest on Saturday, September 16. The Soaring Eagles were led by an impressive performance from senior goalkeeper Rachel Grampp '18. The product of Williamsville, New York, tallied a career-high 18 saves, the most by an Elmira keeper since Christine Zalusky '04 stopped 18 shots against Ithaca College on November 5, 2003. On the offensive end of the pitch, EC recorded its second-highest shot total of the year (8).

GRAMPP LEADS THE WAY
Elmira has found itself a stud in goal the multi-sport student-athlete, Grampp. Through five contests, Grampp paces the Empire 8 Conference in saves per game (11.80) in addition to ranking sixth in save percentage (.783). According to the most recent national ranking summary, the 5-foot-8-inch netminder ranks 13th in all of Division III in total saves (59) and 17th in saves per game.

RETURNING HOME
For the first time since the opening weekend of the 2017 season, the Soaring Eagles are back at Campus Field for their bout against the Express. This return trip might just be what the EC offense needs, as it has yet to score a goal away from Elmira, New York. In its two home bouts, the Purple and Gold have scored three goals and have tallied 17 of their 28 shots that they have recorded this season.

SCOUTING WELLS
The Express enter Tuesday's contest with a 2-3-0 record. Wells' most recent result was an 8-0 setback at the hands of Ithaca College on Saturday, September 16 in Ithaca, New York. The Express' main struggle this season has been playing on the road, as they own a 0-3-0 record away from Aurora, New York, and have been outscored 17-0 in those games. At home, however, Wells is a perfect 2-0-0 with a 4-1 goal differential. Through five games, junior midfielder Mackenzie Maloney has been the Express' main offensive weapon, as she paces the team with five points on two goals and one assist. The reigning North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) All-Conference Third-Team selection is responsible for 11 of Wells' 26 shots on the year. In goal, senior Quinn Doubet has started all five games for the Express. The Virgil, New York, native owns a 2-3 record with one shutout, a .689 save percentage and 31 saves.

FACING E8 OPPOSITION
Through six games this season, Wells has already encountered a pair of E8 teams. The Express have challenged both The Sage Colleges and Hartwick College in road bouts and have fallen in both games by a 13-0 combined score. Including last season, Wells is 0-3-0 and has not tallied a goal against any of its E8 opposition.
