 The No. 16 nationally-ranked Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology handed the Elmira College women's soccer team its second Empire 8 Conference loss of the season, as the Soaring Eagles fell on the road by a 6-0 final score.
 
Stevens controlled the tempo of todays' contest with a fiery offensive attack, as the Ducks outshot Elmira 35-3. Of Stevens' 35 attempts, 20 made their way on goal, while all three of Elmira's shots hit their target. Corner kick opportunities were also heavily in favor of Stevens, 10-1.
 
The Ducks wasted little time putting a tally on the scoreboard, as Julia Panko scored her fifth of the season just 2:34 into regulation. Gabby Saade scored back-to-back goals in the 12th and 24th minutes to increase the Stevens lead to 3-0, before Serena Shah closed out the first half with her first goal of the year in the 41st minute, which sent the Ducks into the halftime break with a 4-0 lead.
 
Rachel Grampp '18 made eight saves in the opening 45 minutes of the contest, before Ali DeSalvatore '20 entered the contest for relief duty in the second half. DeSalvatore made six saves in the final half of the game, including a stop on a penalty kick in the 89th minute, while allowing just two goals.
 
Sammy Mount and Misha Brewster scored goals for Stevens in the second half at the 57th and 90th minutes, respectively.

The Soaring Eagles will look to bounce back next Tuesday, October 3, when they travel to Western New York to face the Blue Devils of Fredonia. The non-conference contest is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
