ELMIRA, N.Y. -- With patches of sun and periods of rain drizzles, the Elmira College women's soccer team fell on their home pitch at Campus Field to the Empire 8 Conference's top-ranked team, Stevens Institute of Technology, by a 5-0 final score. Prior to the contest, Elmira honored its three graduating members of the Class of 2019, which consists of Gabe Carmona '19, Meghan Ray '19 Allie LoPresti '19.

Stevens controlled Saturday afternoon's contest with ball possession and a heavy dose of attack, as the Ducks held a 39-6 lead in shots, including a 22-4 edge in shots on goal. Corner-kick opportunities also finished in favor of Stevens, 15-1.

Stevens, who remained unbeaten in E8 play with a conference record of 7-0, opened today's scoring in the 13th minute on a goal from Julia Panko on a penalty kick. Panko's tally was one of three first-half goals, as tallies by Gabby Saade and Ally Wanzor put the Ducks on top, 3-0, heading into the halftime break. Panko was credited with an assist on the Saade goal in the 19th minute, while Ginger Harris picked up an assist on Wanzor's strike in the 44th minute.

Carmona made eight first-half saves for the Soaring Eagles, before exiting in the second half as Ray took over goalkeeper duties for the final 45 minutes of regulation.

Ray was dually impressive, as the Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, native racked up the third-highest save total of her senior campaign with nine stops.

Despite Ray's strong performance between the sticks, which included a bevy of saves at full extension, the Ducks were able to break through and score twice in the second stanza. Harris netted one in the 52nd minute, while Gianna Nitti tallied in the 87th minute to solidify a 5-0 victory for Stevens.
