UTICA, N.Y. -- A treacherous second-half for the Elmira College women's soccer team led to a 7-0 defeat to the Pioneers of Utica College. EC's starting goalkeeper, Gabe Carmona '19, made a career-high 20 saves in 82:33 of action.

Carmona made 13 of her 20 saves in the second half, before Meghan Ray '19 came in for relief duty for the final 7:27 of regulation. The 20 saves made by Carmona are the most by an EC goalkeeper in over 16 years.

Utica took a 2-0 first-half lead on goals by Mikayla Blumenstock and Kayla Longo in the seventh and 36th minutes, respectively. Despite the two-goal deficit, Elmira was still very much in today's contest. However, back-to-back goals by Kierra Caissey at 51:16 and 51:38 opened the flood gates, as the Pioneers went on to score five second-half goals to secure today's win.

Gabrielle Esposito, Jessica Levy and Taylor Miller added additional goals to complete the 7-0 win for Utica.
