Men's Ice Hockey Announces Teddy Bear Toss Game on Dec. 7

ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's ice hockey team is excited to announce the Soaring Eagles will host their third annual Teddy Bear Toss Game at the Murray Athletic Center on Saturday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m. against Lebanon Valley College.

Fans who bring a new stuffed toy to the MAC that night will receive $2.00 off the price of admission. Tickets without a teddy bear will remain $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and seniors. Children ages 12 and under receive free admission.

After the Soaring Eagles score their first goal against the Flying Dutchmen, fans are asked to throw their teddies onto the ice in celebratory fashion. All stuffed toys collected will be donated to Catholic Charities of Chemung and Schuyler Counties, who distribute them to local children in need to spread joy for the holiday season.

Over the last two years, the EC men's hockey team has donated over 800 stuffed animals to Catholic Charities as a result of its Teddy Bear Toss Games. The Soaring Eagles are once again asking fans and the local community for their support to help make a difference during the holidays.

"We are excited and pleased to team up with Catholic Charities for such a great cause," said Head Coach Aaron Saul '98, who added the team is hoping to surpass last year's total by collecting over 450 teddy bears.
