Score: D'Youville College 16, Elmira College 4
Records: Elmira (0-6), D'Youville (2-2)
Location: Ernie Davis Academy – Elmira, N.Y.

ELMIRA, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team couldn't find the consistent offense it needed on a blustery day in the Southern Tier on Saturday, as the Soaring Eagles dropped a 16-4 decision to the Spartans of D'Youville College at Ernie Davis Academy.

The Spartans opened the scoring  for the contest three minutes in, but EC responded a little under five minutes later as Stephanie Martin'22 buried a free position chance for her third goal od the season.

Despite the early answer, three-straight goals from the Spartans put control of the contest back into the visitors' hands. Mikayla Carfello '22 halted D'Youville's momentum with just under 10 minutes to play in the first half, as the freshman caused a turnover and turned it into immediate offense by beating D'Youville's Megan Dulniak.

EC kept the Spartans off the board for the next six minutes, but D'Youville responded with a run of six unanswered goals that ran into the second half. Carfello added a free position tally to stop the barrage and Martin added an unassisted strike, but the Spartans early lead held firm as EC couldn't match D'Youville's persistent attack.

Elmira received a combined 15 saves from Kacie Pierce '21 and Krystyna Lilland '21,who tallied 15 and four, respectively. D'Youville's offense was led by Sierra Brooks, who finished with five points (3g-2a).
