ALFRED, N.Y. -- The Elmira College men's lacrosse team was unable to contain the high-powered offense of Alfred University in Empire 8 Conference play on Saturday afternoon, as the Soaring Eagles fell to the Saxons on the road by a final score of, 27-2.

Jacob Mattice '21 stood tall in net once again for the Soaring Eagles, registering 27 saves across 60 minutes of action.
Elmira was able to break through against the Saxons on two occasions through
James Mayer '20 and
Matt Marchal '19. Mayer tallied his ninth goal of the season on a solo effort near the six-minute mark of the second quarter. Marchal posted his first-career goal in the final quarter off of a feed from rookie
Dee Jackson '22.
