CANTON, N.Y. -- The Elmira College women's lacrosse team fell on the road to the Roos of SUNY Canton by a final score of 17-1 on Thursday afternoon.

Canton's quick-fire offense made the difference, as the Roos struck for seven goals in the first seven minutes of the contest to seize the momentum early. Turnovers loomed large for the Purple and Gold, as the Roos' defense forced Elmira into 30 miscues. Kacie Pierce '21 and Krystyna Lilland '21 combined for 15 saves in net for EC, as the duo faced a barrage of 32 shots on target.

Rachael Goetz '20 scored Elmira's lone goal of the contest in the second half by cashing in a free position opportunity. Goetz's tally was her 16th goal of the season.
