Elmira College Cheerleading Secures 11th Consecutive Gold-Paid Bid to NCA College Nationals

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Elmira College cheerleading team ensured its place at the 2020 National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals after earning its 11th consecutive Gold-Paid Bid at the annual NCA College Camp, hosted by Boston University.

"I am so excited and proud of my team for all of the hard work they put into camp this year," said head coach Amber Myers. "We have a very young team, so for us to walk away with a Gold Bid is truly a testament to the leadership of our upperclassmen. It was the perfect way for us to start our new season."

The Purple and Gold earned third place in the rally routine portion of this year's camp. EC was one of six teams to earn a Gold Bid at the Boston camp, joining the University of New Hampshire, Bridgewater State University, the University of Connecticut, Montclair State University, and the University of Maine.

The Soaring Eagles will flock south to Daytona Beach, Florida, from April 8-12 for the 2020 NCA College Nationals. Elmira secured its sixth-straight top-four finish at the 2019 championships and will look to secure its third national championship on the bandshell this season.
