Box Score BRADFORD, Pa. -- The Elmira College Women's Volleyball team couldn't keep its momentum rolling on Tuesday evening, as the Soaring Eagles dropped a hard-fought battle on the road to the Panthers of Pitt-Bradford.
Elmira (2-2), struggled to find a rhythm offensively all evening, as Pitt-Bradford (3-2) was able to fluster the Purple and Gold's attackers at the net. The opening set was the closest battle of the three-set affair, as the reigning Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) champion Panthers barely edged the Soaring Eagles by a 25-23 score. Unfortunately, EC was never able to find its footing following the opener, falling in the final two sets by identical 25-11 scores.
Lauren Smith '21 once again led the way for EC's attack flooring five kills to go along with four digs.
Lydia Milligan '21 and
Sam Sprague '22 chipped in with two kills apiece, while
Kassi Hastings'21 added 11 assists as the team's orchestrator.

- Cassie Potter '20 and Jena Gatto '20 tied Smith for the team-lead with four digs apiece.

The Soaring Eagles resume play on Friday, September 6, when they head to Plymouth, New Hampshire, for the opening day of the Granite State Challenge on the campus of Plymouth State. EC opens the two-day affair with a pair of matches against the host Panthers and New England College at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
