PINE VALLEY, N.Y. -- The Elmira College field hockey team fell in their Saturday afternoon conference matchup with Washington & Jefferson at the Murray Athletic Center. After allowing two early goals just six minutes in, the Purple & Gold settled in before allowing three late goals in the final 14 minutes of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Presidents took advantage of a pair of defensive breakdowns on the Elmira end and scored two quick goals through the first six minutes of play. After Madeline Hubbard scored early, she then assisted teammate Lina Crowley just four minutes later to give W&J a 2-0 lead.
The Soaring Eagles were able to keep themselves close in the shot column, putting four on net in the first half.
In the second half, Hailey Wachowiak scored all three goals for the Presidents over a 14 minute span to extend the W&J lead to 5-0.
Bella DeAmelia '24 recorded five saves for EC in 30 minutes of play.
